DescriptionSummary:Under the supervision and/or the direction of the Registered Nurse, performs various direct patient care activities in accordance with nursing department policy and procedures.
Responsible of Instrument Room Tech will include but not limited to the following: storing instrumentation properly, reporting repairs needs of instruments and their accessories, cleaning and checking instruments, assembling instrument trays, assisting with patient services, and maintenance of sterile processing supplies.
May be assigned other functions in accordance with hospital department policies, procedures and protocolsRequirements:A.
Education/Skills High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of on the job training.
Manual dexterity to assemble surgical instruments.
Maintains working knowledge of new developments in sterile processing and distribution.
B.
Experience Previous healthcare experience required.
Previous experience in sterile processing preferred.
C.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications AHA CPR required.
AAMI (American Association of Medical Instrumentation) certification preferred within two years of employment.
