Below are a few things that will set us apart!We have a beautiful, new hospitalWe are an 18 bed, critical access hospital with 5 additional ER rooms.We provide multiple services—lab, PT/OT/ST, in-house MRI and CT, Surgical Services, Specialty Clinic, Sleep Lab, Respiratory Therapy, Occupational Medicine—just to name a few.New, updated equipmentOur physician’s clinic is housed under the same roof and therefore, very accessibleWe currently have 4 MD’s and 8 mid-level providers—Two new Family Practice with OB Physicians will be joining our group late this summer—so we will have 14 providers in house.We have excellent relationships with our medical staff and have a very interactive, interdepartmental relationship with themOur ER has a provider on-staff 24/7—they are always onsiteWe have the designation of a level four trauma centerWe have three nursing supervisors—Inpatient, Outpatient, and Ancillary Services—we all work together and are resources and support for one another!The inpatient nursing team is made up of RN’s with varied experience-we welcome new grads and also have very experienced nurses who have been her 30-40 years. They are all cross trained to work in all three nursing areas (LDRP, ED, and Med-Surg) and maintain multiple certifications (NRP, PALS, ACLS, BLS, TNCC, Stable)We have an average daily census of 8-12 patients and deliver approximately 125 babies per yearResponsibilitiesJob Summary / PurposeThe Registered Nurse (RN), within their scope of practice, is responsible to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to a designated group of healthcare consumers across the continuum. Provides services which encompass the spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care of the sick, prevention of disease, or conservation of health. The position contributes to the mission and core values of CHI Health.Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesFollow the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.Assessment Demonstrates a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze the following healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factorsPlan – Sets measurable and achievable short and long term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment by the nurse in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.Implement – Implements and/or modifies the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning based upon standards of care and evidence based practice. This includes care coordination, education and discharge planning. The nurse is accountable for the care directly, indirectly or through delegation. Professional and legal standards for delegation must be followed.Evaluate – Uses a systematic ongoing process to evaluate progress towards identified healthcare consumer goals. Revision of plan of care when needed involving the healthcare consumer and the multidisciplinary team.Documents all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record.Demonstrates personal and professional responsibility for ongoing development, practice, and education. Maintains a safe work environment. Fosters a collaborative environment in support of the nursing profession.QualificationsEducation:Graduate from an Accredited Nursing ProgramLicenses & Certifications:Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compactBasic life support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required upon hireACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hirePALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hireCPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required within 6 months of hire
