Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant demonstrates knowledge and skills in the clinical care of patients. This position reports to the Clinical Manager and also takes direction from the physicians. The position is responsible for the daily completion of patient examinations and procedures with the physicians, and blood draws for patients. This individual is critical to the fast paced daily workflow to ensure patients are best prepared for treatment and achieving their goal of pregnancy.
Essential Functions
- Prepare patients for examination, including weight, blood pressure, urine dipstick, hemoglobin, pap smear, and urine pregnancy, as needed.
- Prepare minor procedure trays and assist with those procedures as needed. These procedures would include hysteroscopies, biopsies and others.
- Chaperone patient examinations with the physicians and complete EMR Documentation as appropriate.
- Prepare and maintain all exam rooms and draw station.
- Perform daily equipment maintenance and sterilization.
- Order and stock examination areas with adequate supplies and reconcile packing slips.
- Respond to pharmacy refill inquiries and document in the patient’s chart.
- Complete blood draws. Follow proper specimen collection procedures, including patient preparation and venipuncture, specimen labeling, processing and transportation of specimens
Required Qualifications for this Position

- Current Medical Assistant certification. Current BLS certification.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Medical Assisting.
- Minimum 1 year of recent MA experience
- Must be organized with a strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, have strong attention to detail, and strong ability to utilize time efficiently. This is a faced pace work environment.
- Must have excellent customer service skills, exhibiting courteous, compassionate, and respectful treatment of internal and external customers at all times.
- Maintain strict confidentiality for all patient and clinic information.
