Overview: The Division of Cardiology at Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Board-certified Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join its expanding heart failure program.
Morristown Medical Center and its Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, housed in the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, a 200 bed heart hospital lead the state of New Jersey and provide a full spectrum of cardiovascular services.
They offer excellent clinical, academic and clinical research opportunities as well as the opportunity to help establish the vision for a heart failure program that oversees care at each of Atlantics 5 hospitals and coordinates outpatient care through Atlantic Medical Groups large multi-specialty practice.The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary team and assume clinical duties in all aspects of heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and ventricular assist devices in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.

Experience in or the ability to teach fellows, residents, and medical students and the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment are required.
Responsibilities :Assist with Heart Failure initiatives including but not limited to, reduction in length of stay, observed to expected mortality, 30 day readmissions, adherence to core measures and other publicly reported data, optimized transitions of care.Work with medical director to oversee inpatient and outpatient heart failure programs Representing heart failure program and its activities with AHS system and hospital level committees as neededIn collaboration with current medical director and surgical director of advanced heart failure, oversight of advanced heart failure mechanical circulatory support program Assist to advance the field of heart failure at Atlantic Health System.The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of professional, administrative and community The person in this position must also have strong clinical skills.
Establish advanced heart failure research program including securing extramural funding and presenting results with oral and written (peer-review) presentations, and supervision of fellow research as needed.Improve operational efficiency of heart failure management including implementation of computer based reporting and data Work with medical director with updates as needed to the advanced heart failure curriculum for cardiology Work with Fellowship Program Director to ensure compliance of heart failure training with ACGME requirements.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess an MD or equivalent, and be board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
Must be eligible for licensure in New Jersey and academic appointment, preferably at the associate professor or professor level.
