Biomed Equipment Technician Certified – Clinical Engineering

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Biomed Equipment Technician Certified (1.0 FTE, DAY SHIFT) to work in the Clinical Engineering Department at Swedish Shared Services located in Seattle, WA.Performs highly skilled work of considerable difficulty involving various medical equipment and systems. Considered to be an expert in the operation of specialized test equipment, schematic reading, and technical manuals. Will assemble and disassemble moderately complex electronic and Electro-mechanical devices.In this position you will:* Performs major and minor repairs on equipment as assigned* Applies good problem solving skills in a variety of situations* Performs incoming inspections, cleaning, unscheduled maintenance, and calibration* Performs and completes preventive maintenance assignments in accordance to the Medical Equipment Management Plan* Inspects preventive maintenance stickers in assigned areas. If outdated PM stickers are located equipment must be inspected and returned to service promptly.Required qualifications for this position include:* Associate’s Degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent educ/experience. Military training may be considered as an alternative* Must have completed several specialized training courses on servicing certain medical devices or systems* AAMI/BMET certification* Two (2) years experience in repairing and servicing a variety of medical electronic devicesAbout the First Hill CampusThe 697-bed tertiary-care center on the Swedish/First Hill campus is the flagship of the Swedish health-care system. Swedish/First Hill has one of the most active and advanced birthing programs in Washington state and houses a Level III neonatal intensive-care unit. More surgeries are performed each year at Swedish/First Hill than at any other facility in the region; volumes include more total joint replacements than any other medical center in the state.
