The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the physician practice provides professional nursing care to patients within Physician’s Practice. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill are performed in accordance with practice policy, procedure and philosophy.Education and Experience:MinimumPreferredEducation:Graduate of accredited school of nursingExperience:2 years previous clinical nursing experience.2 or more years clinical nursing experience in a physician’s practice.Computer/Software Knowledge:Basic computer literacy including: Word, e-mail and internet applicationsAdvanced computer literacy skills. Experience with Practice Management softwareLicensure/ CertificationCurrent licensure or eligibility from Delaware Board of Nursing or compact state as a GPN/LPN. Basic CPR certification required.Certification in Specialty area.ACLS CertificationSpecial Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:Must be able to read, write, and speak EnglishKnowledge of practice management and experience working with a managed care population.Ability to administer allergy tests and give injections.Demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to educate patients regarding their plan of care.
