It’s an opportunity to do your life’s best work.(sm) The Alaska Native Liaison will support strong communications and effective working relationships between the Optum Alaska Administrative Services Organization (ASO), Tribal Health Organizations (THOs), Care Management and their support tribal participants and other stakeholders in Alaska’s behavioral healthcare delivery system. The Alaska Native Liaison will serve as a member of the Optum Alaska Executive Management Team and assist Optum Alaska team members adapt policies, procedures and outreach efforts as necessary to support effective behavioral health services and interactions with Alaska’s tribal and non-tribal behavioral health delivery systems. The Alaska Native Liaison also will provide the Optum Alaska team with ongoing training and feedback about the tribal health delivery system. If you are located in Alaska you will have the flexibility to telecommute as you take on the responsibilities of this role. Primary Responsibilities: Represent the perspective of Native Alaska participants and THOs on the Optum Alaska ASO Executive Management Team and other ASO committees Establish regular communications with designated representative(s) of the Alaska Native Tribal Healthcare Consortium in support of policy development, shared training and feedback Ensure consistency between policies and procedures developed by Optum Alaska with DHSS program staff (responsible for relationships with tribal health organizations and tribes) Develop and regularly update training material for Optum Alaska staff on the tribal healthcare delivery system and its interface with the non-tribal system Provide training, especially with emphasis on behavioral health services to tribal communities and behavioral health teams Assist Optum regional care coordination teams, individual participants and THO Behavioral Health Directors to overcome service barriers You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: 4-year degree or higher (in psychology, nursing, social work, counseling or marriage or family counseling or other relevant degree) 2 years of experience in developing and implementing policies and/or managing services as part of Alaska’s tribal health delivery system 2 years of experience in Alaska’s tribal behavioral health care delivery system Proficiency in MS Office applications Residence in the state of Alaska Open to travel on a quarterly basis Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.
