Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator

American Payroll Institute Inc

This is a Full-time position in San Antonio, TX posted November 9, 2021.

The American Payroll Association (APA) is the nation’s leader in payroll education, publications, and training.

This non-profit association conducts more than 300 payroll training conferences and seminars across the country each year in addition to producing a variety of publications geared to the payroll professional.

We are currently in search of a proactive and self-motivated P ublic Relations and Social Media Coordinator superstar to join our Public Relations Team.

The successful candidate assists with the execution and planning of public relations efforts including social media and media relations initiatives designed to create and maintain a favorable public image of the APA and its affiliated companies.

Key Duties

Some of the key duties include:
Assists with the development and implementation of a variety of campaigns; tracks analytics tied to campaigns
Creates and distributes written media pitches; performs media pitches, as assigned
Performs public speaking on behalf of the Association and the industry
Writes and posts messaging on social media platforms
Monitors social network channels
Writes and edits scripts and other communications
Prepares and distributes calendar releases for APA’s courses and seminars
Assists with the recording and distribution of APA’s webcam video network
Writes shoots and edits short video projects for use on APA’s social networks and other outlets
Represents APA in community projects and at public, social, and business gatherings
Assists with the development and implementation of community relations activities for APA’s chapters and offices

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Public Relations or related field from a four-year college or university or equivalent business-related experience.
Two or more years of previous experience in public relations and social media or related internship are desirable.
