Job Title: Property Conservation Consultant Reports To: Vice President of Risk ServicesDepartment: Loss ControlFLSA Classification: Exempt Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Vice President of Risk Services, the Property Conservation Consultant serves as the property loss control resource in the middle Tennessee region, providing property conservation surveys for municipalities, utilities, schools, and other public agencies that have property insurance coverage with Public Entity Partners.
Job ResponsibilitiesConducts physical field surveys of new and existing covered properties to identify hazards and make timely property loss control recommendations designed to mitigate identified hazards.Prior to the survey, reviews the member s loss history, the underwriting file, claim detail, loss trends, and develops loss ratios in preparation for the site visit.Meets with the member s key contact to visit property locations and to discuss and evaluate property conservation loss control policies and practices.During the survey, assess property, to include, but not limited to property size, building type, external hazards, flood, fire, and security risks; also assess housekeeping practices, electrical/mechanical equipment clearance, structural integrity, and financial and cyber risks exposures.At the conclusion of the survey, a comprehensive survey report is completed and sent to the insured member.
This report may include photographs/data from each property and recommendations for addressing the identified hazards, along with any applicable safety controls and best practices.A risk control summary is also completed and sent to the Underwriting Department to establish classifications, premium adjustments, and to outline any special, unusual or high risks identified during the survey.Other duties as assigned.Job QualificationsAny combination of education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work:Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Insurance, engineering, engineering technology, construction technology or a related field (preferred)2-5 years of experience working in a property-related insurance field or governmental loss control.Ability to work independently.Certification in and/or working knowledge, understanding and application of:Building CodesMechanical CodesFire CodesOSHA RulesNFPA StandardsConstruction types (ability to identify associated potential hazards)Ability to read and understand construction plans (preferred)Ability to use a laptop and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with others.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong analytical skills.Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, with periodic overnight travel.Valid Tennessee driver s license with a non-adverse driving historyMust have a reliable vehicle.Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Employee is regularly exposed to hot and cold temperatures, humid conditions and sometimes rainy conditions, and employee may work around moving mechanical parts.
