PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

High School diploma or equivalent
CERTIFICATIONS:
For Transfer Station Facilities –
40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred. If not currently HAZWOPER certified, must be able to acquire within 3 months of hire
Minimum of 8 hr HHW Collection training from the company contracted to remove the collected waste – must be able to acquire within 3 months of hire.
FOR Road & Bridge –
Must be able to successfully pass CDOT flagger certification test.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires journey level skill in equipment operation; knowledge and ability to handle all routine tasks, problems and techniques, and/or solve unusual or unique tasks with assistance in the full range of job duties. Such a level is generally acquired through at least three (3) years of experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
For Road & Bridge Department –
Must have valid Colorado commercial driver license; class A, with air brake, and tanker endorsements
For Transfer Station Department –
– Must have valid Colorado commercial driver license; class B, with air brake endorsement
– Must be vaccinated against Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis – subject to exceptions by law
For Both Road & Bridge and Transfer Station –
Must have a working telephone – can be either cell or home phone
Must pass background check: Criminal and TrafficConviction of a crime will not be an absolute bar to employment
Must pass initial and all random alcohol & drug tests
Required legal authorization to work -United States citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States

For Transfer Station Equipment Operator II –
POSSIBLE HEALTH RISKS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:
This position has been determined to be an EXTREME exposure risk to “biohazards” associated with blood-borne pathogens HIV (aids), HAV (Hepatitis A) virus, HBV (hepatitis B) virus, and air-borne transmissions of TB (tuberculosis). Members are advised that exposure to a “biohazard” may result in severe illness or death. Members are required by Department policy to use protective equipment and clothing. Inoculation may be required to prevent or treat exposures to “biohazards”. The County provides inoculation of HAV, HBV, (Testing for TB) Chickenpox, Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria, & Pertussis), Meningococcal, MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella), and Influenza. Some vaccinations are only required once in a life time, and you may be required to show documentation of the vaccine. Employees who decline to be vaccinated will need to sign a Declination
