Key Responsibilities The Consultant, Public Affairs Strategic Programs, will work cross-functionally internally and externally to build impactful campaigns, coalitions and programs that advance Dell Technologies’ corporate and community objectives and position Dell Technologies as an innovative and ethical company that uses its resources and technology to drive meaningful change for our society.
You will: * Develop and execute proactive strategic public affairs programs that support Dell’s reputation & business interests and local communities* Form public affairs points of view on new issues of interest to the public that impact the company (example: vaccine education, care economy)* Work cross-functionally across government affairs, csr, corporate affairs, marketing and HR, to gain consensus amongst multiple stakeholder groups internally.
Communicate regularly with government affairs team to ensure coordinated communications to policymakers* Earn trust across a range of levels (including senior executives) and disciplines to establish yourself and the team as a trusted partner* Connect, influence, inspire and galvanize teams to drive agile, strategic partnerships, cross-functional programs across multiple groups with competing priorities* Think big with an expanded, holistic view and long-term perspective of Dell’s corporate, political and business priorities in key markets* Keen ability to anticipate, manage risks as well as future corporate reputation opportunities and public affairs issues* Guide and advise employee resource groups on how and where to engage on external matters of public interest in partnership with Government Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Diversity & Inclusion and Internal Communications* Support policy, reputation and sales objectives at local level with public affairs strategies and programs Essential Requirements * Advanced knowledge of public affairs strategies, concepts, tools & techniques, including media relations and public policy * 12+ years related experience identify and develop community level strategies that support corporate plan and keep internal stakeholders informed on issues at community level* Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Public Policy, Political Science or related field* Existing relationships with journalists who cover intersection of government and technology* Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills as well as writing skills across a wide range of deliverables; from traditional PR to policy documents to testimonies* Passion for policy, storytelling, advocacy, written and verbal communications* Strong understanding of the regulatory and policy landscape impacting technology* Understanding of and experience with various social media platforms* Able to partner with diverse range of stakeholders, industry peers, partners, colleagues and outside agencies to drive and amplify strategic stories with media* Proactive execution, speed, agility and the ability to influence and lead change* Savvy to navigate complex organization to find and develop engaging stories and curiosity to have a broader impact on the business and for society* Self-starter, curious, positive attitude, and a growth mindset Desirable Requirements * Experience working within technology industry* Experience working within multinational organization Dell Technologies is a unique family of businesses that helps organizations and individuals build their digital future and transform how they work, live and play—providing customers with the industry’s broadest and most innovative technology and services portfolio.
