The Role
As the Infrastructure Strategy CoE Leader, you blend deep technical expertise across all domains of applied information technology and strategic business planning with a passion to comprehensively examine, research, and develop multi-year plans that establish a thoughtful NorthStar Infrastructure Strategy for the firm.
The NorthStar Strategy will include a focus on network transformation, data center consolidation and co-location, mainframe optimization, and accelerated cloud adoption and migration.
You bring extensive industry expertise in solutions architecture and business strategy with implementation experience across the many aspects of applications, middleware, databases, servers, storage, networks, and data center operations.
You also have a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing associates.

In an agile structure you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to build and evolve consistent practices and standards for the specialized skills and expertise of your CoE, and influence the vision, strategic decisions, solutions development and priorities, domain to your expertise.
You will directly lead and manage a team of CoE members, who will primarily support tribes, autonomous squads, or initiatives on a time-limited, as needed basis.
You are dedicated to helping them grow and develop in their expertise and ensure alignment on the work they perform.
You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.
As a player/coach you will spend a percentage of your time as a squad member using your expertise and experience to help advance the work and improve tribe/squad performance.
- Ensuring CoE talent composition aligns with strategic priorities including workforce planning (e.g., skill proficiency, expertise, and resource gaps, recruit, train, and/or hire) vital to deliver value and results for clients and the business
- Supporting and enabling CoE members to deliver increased value in the tribes and squads to which they are deployed
- Proactively partnering with domain, chapter area, tribe, squad, and other leaders to:
- influence strategic decisions related to your specialized knowledge area and remove impediments to delivering increased value
- measure performance through established objectives and Key Performance Indicators that deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people results
- align CoE members across tribes or squads as needed
- set and reinforce CoE standards and methodologies for how work is executed and ensure the work performed aligns with established road maps
- actively sharing insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments, within your area of expertise across the organization
- collaborating with tribe and squad leaders to establish, develop, and align with the multi-year plans of the NorthStar Infrastructure strategy.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
- 15+ Years of Applied Information Technology & Business Strategy Experience
- 10+ Years of proven Complex Solutions Architecture Design & Implementation Experience
- 10+ Years of Virtualization, Network, Server, Storage & Data Center Experience
- 10+ Years of Enterprise Applications, Middleware, & Databases Implementation Experience
- Collaborating on sophisticated solutions, strategies, roadmaps, architectures
- Sophisticated systems migrations from on-premise to cloud platforms
- Working with multiple Information Technology industry vendors
- Experience leading, coaching, mentoring and developing people and teams
- Financial services experience preferred
- Agile leadership experience preferred
- Committed and inspirational people leader capable of developing others within your knowledge area to accelerate and achieve increased skill proficiency
- Good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence decisions and engage across Fidelity and at all levels of the organization
- Possess a track record of effectively managing and prioritizing the allocation of limited expertise based on strategic business needs
- Continuous improvement approach and encourage and enable an agile way of working
- Proactively develop and share your knowledge, expertise and perspectives and develop the same expectation across your CoE and throughout our multi-functional environment
