CBS’s Vice President of Service is an integral member of our management team—leading our team of 40 engineering supervisors, mobile mechanics, technicians, and corporate personnel in a multi-location, multi-contract environment.
Responsible for the day-to-day and long-term operations of Service Department, this team member provides leadership for the development and implementation of key management strategies to drive CBS’s industry-leading Service Department in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Our Vice President of Service analyzes company/department sales, financial/operational reports, and customer satisfaction surveys to ensure goals are met and business strategies are productive.
Major Duties: (may perform many or all of the following duties) Manage, direct, and control all activities related to department resources including hiring, headcount, training, employee development, employee engagement, and workforce planning Improve revenue by upselling work orders within existing customer base and acquiring new customers.
Draft, revise, and reviews new business proposals.
Prepare weekly action reports for executives and monthly financial statement reviews Create an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual support among employees.
Manage non-productive time within the truck-based service environment.
Collaborate with other CBS divisions to create effective solutions.
Develop and manage operating and capital budgets.
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company and department goals.
Source and secure new, innovate green initiatives and achieve energy saving goals of customers Provide tactical leadership about all facets of customer service and performance quality.
Continue to develop processes, procedures, and standards to increase operational performance.
Perform contract negotiations, procurement, and setup related to related to new contract acquisitions.
Conduct job surveys, prepare work plans, and provide job cost analysis.
Ensure that customer accounts are collected in a timely manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
You Should Have Minimum Qualifications: 7 years of relevant work experience in the HVAC, electrical, and installation fields 3 years of management experience in a related field Strong PowerPoint, Excel User Candidate may have experience with 1 or more of the following ideal software Experience: FX Service Maintenance Software, JD Edwards Candidate may have 1 or more of the following ideal certifications: Professional Engineer, LEED Certification, Licensed Journeyman Electrician, Maryland Limited Master’s HVACR License Associate degree in Business or equivalent experience and self-study Skills & Attributes Necessary for Success: Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills Strong planning, organizing, and controlling skills Coaching/counseling, initiative, and leadership skills Strong critical thinking skills Multi-tasking ability Strong decision-making skills Business acumen and P&L experience Familiarity with Continuous Improvement Initiatives Mechanical and technical aptitude Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, technical materials, and manufacturers manuals Working knowledge of hand tools, electrical and power tools, meters and gauges Why You’ll Love Working With Us Complete Building Services (CBS) is a company that is passionate about the operation and maintenance of buildings/facilities in the commercial and government sectors.
