We are adding a Field Service Engineer to the team at our expanding state of the art manufacturing campus in Sacrament, California.
You will start in an experienced team in a high growth, exciting environment on next generation diesel or electrical locomotives, coaches and full trains.
Our vehicles are connecting cities all over North America.
We offer you Impact, Challenge and Opportunity What you will be doing: Support commissioning and warranty of Siemens Electric and Diesel Locomotives, passenger coach cars or Trainsets.
Read, interpret and understand written or electronic information to identify the Root cause of a failures and compile reports for your site lead and warranty manager.
Troubleshoot and analyze failures on locomotives, coaches or trainsets.
Diagnose electrical malfunctions in locomotive control circuits and components, assess the nature of problems, and identify corrective action needed.
Perform, with use of mechanical drawings, schematics and location circuit plans, electrical and mechanical repairs of various components.
Document failures, part exchanges, implementation of FMI’s and your performed work in our Commissioning and Warranty data base.
Implementation of field modifications (FMI’s) to improve the quality of our product.
Work with vendor’s on understanding root cause analysis and reporting analysis to end customer.
What you will need to be successful: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering related field Experience in a field engineering commissioning role Skilled in reading electrical schematics .
Willingness to work at least one year in the field to learn the equipment.
Up to 25% travelling required on a regular basis Drive to work across multiple systems and develop core competencies beyond engineering field of study.
Motivation to learn new software programs in a continuously evolving environment.
