Job Description

The System Architecture Engineer primary duty is in the development of the various vehicle system architectures, including but not limited to the following static architectural relationships of the system components: serial (GbE, CAN, etc.), signal (DC, etc.), power, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.

The tool of use is Mentor Graphics Capital Logic (version 2017).

Additional duties include the development of system requirements, integration, and test.

They shall ensure the system architecture has been fully defined, traceable, and consistent / validated through the engineering decomposition down to the components.

They shall ensure that all of their tasks and quality products are completed on-time.

Their roles and responsibilities include:

• Design and develop the system and subsystem architecture, interfaces, and design including commonality considerations
• Assist with the decomposition of system and subsystem performance and verification requirements utilizing IBM Rational DOORS 9.6, and develop design verification plans and reports
• Assist in identifying, defining, and managing power, data, and other system interfaces
• Ensure the system, subsystem, and component interfaces are maintained
• Manage power and network bandwidth allocations for vehicle functions
• Assist to ensure the system design aligns across physical, power, data, and software
• Integrate and verify the system and subsystem components in the SIL/Vehicle
• Define and execute system and subsystem integration, test, and verification plans

Position Requirements: 

• Strong skills in system/subsystem requirements development, design, and test
• Bachelor’ s Degree in an Engineering Discipline required, electrical engineering preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of applicable experience
• Trouble shooting system/subsystems, Combat vehicle or automotive knowledge preferred
• Must be able to write test procedures and reports
• Highly motivated performer
• Works well in team and individually
• Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills is required
• Able to work in office, shop, test lab, test site environments, and in vehicles
• The individual must be a US person
