System Architect

The System Architect is responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision to help ensure our systems meet the needs and expectations of the end user.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work closely with developers, quality assurance, systems engineering and product managers to guide our platform development efforts across multiple teams Produce architectural artifacts to be consumed by technical teams that range from detailing current and future state of platforms at a high level to detailed specifications at a feature level to more generalized guidance around non-functional requirements and best practices.

Assist in defining the technical roadmap for development teams while driving best practices in design thinking and cutting-edge software engineering practices Help teams resolve both technical and business problems with innovative and practical solutions Provide leadership and guidance to coach and motivate team members to their optimum performance levels and career development goals Function as subject matter expert and system architecture authority for systems integration Offer design leadership, input and manage system tradeoffs Design and document key system components, interfaces, infrastructure, and communications Analyze current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and suggest enhancement solutions Be responsive and decisive on adjusting our product architecture as customer requirements, market conditions and technologies evolve Actively participate in the development process, as needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field 8+ years of experience working through the design, development and release cycle to deliver software products to market Deep technical and practical understanding of wireless technologies and implementations, including Bluetooth / BLE, IEEE 802.15.4-based networks, and Wi-Fi Expert guidance in designing an architecture that implements best practices in privacy and security and meeting healthcare requirements for HIPAA compliance Experience with cloud technologies and cloud application architecture including containerization and serverless architecture Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, product life-cycle, and up-to-date on industry standards and best practices.  Strong programming and design fundamentals with ability to produce high quality code
