System Architect

Apex Systems, LLC is immediately seeking a Systems Architect in support of a growing Government Integrator in Woodlawn or Elkridge, MD. The qualified individual will be part of a collaborative and agile team that supports and builds modern, standards-based responsive web application for mission-critical health IT solutions. The right candidate will have strong experience in modernization efforts for large enterprise applications systems, specifically those running on mainframe being transitioned to modern day tech within AWS cloud. Location Woodlawn or Elkridge, MD Duration Temp to Perm Compensation Competitive based on years of relevant experience education Clearance Able to obtain maintain a position of Public Trust Responsibilities We are seeking alternative solutions to an existing Suite of Systems to create efficiencies in processing time, utilize modern infrastructure and technology such as cloud services, and provide predictive analytics for beneficiary risk scores based on business rules and drivers. This scope of work requires a large-scale, efficient approach to systems management especially validation work that is informed by a careful, deliberate approach to continuous quality improvement efforts (e.g., improved efficiency in coding and processing that ensures accuracy in payments allocated to its contracted organizations). The System Architect will aide in developing this next-generation platform. The individual will have a chance to work with cutting-edge technologies in an innovation-driven environment, where individual creativity is valued and teams work together to solve challenges to achieve common goals. Required Qualifications Must have Bachelor’s Degree 11 years’ of relevant experience in IT system architecture as it pertains to enterprise level applications systems. Proven expertise in architecting and designing solutions for large, complex software development projects, with both mainframe batch systems and cloud-based systems, accounting for scalability, flexibility, performance, and security. Proven success with hands-on development, prototype development, trade-off and selection analysis, and evaluation of various technologies. Advanced proficiency with software and services related to migrating legacy systems to the cloud (primarily AWS) and optimizing their performance within. Extended experience with service-oriented environments and best development practices Knowledge of the fundamentals of iterative development and the application of Agile concepts and principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience working directly with stakeholders to discuss their requirements and objectives. Preferred Qualifications Experience soliciting, gathering, and analyzing user input and requirements Any past experience working projectsprograms in the Federal Health, Enterprise Healthcare, or Financial arena.
