The TEDS organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the Mission Systems strategic business unit as well as external customers, including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. As a key member of the TEDS leadership team, the Senior Project Engineer ensures the successful execution of test solution projects from inception, through deployment to customers, as well as long-term support. Typical test solutions include COTS components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment coupled with custom software for testing circuit card assemblies and top-level products. The ideal candidate will have an unwavering positive attitude, be highly responsive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment, and strive to perform high-quality work proactively and efficiently. This person will consistently demonstrate professionalism in their interactions with all levels of the organization and will routinely go above and beyond expectations in performing their work. They will have strong project execution, systems engineering, and critical thinking skills. They will be passionate about performing data analysis for creating accurate bids and crafting attractive proposals. This is a multi-faceted role requiring versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders at various locations around the globe to ensure project success. Organizationally, the role reports to an Engineering Manager in the TEDS organization.Primary Responsibilities:Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement purposes Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitments Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule) Ensure project meets quality expectations Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership Prepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams Develop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and to gain organizational buy-inBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
