As a senior member of this expert team, you will own substantial and challenging performance projects.nn nn n nn nnWhat types of projects will you accomplish?nn nn
· Collaborate with other members of the design team
– primarily in Austin
– to help design our next-generation CPU microarchitecturenn nn
· Lend your expertise across all Performance sub-disciplines: microarchitecture and performance model development, microarchitectural performance analysis, RTL/performance-model correlation, workload analysis, and workload developmentnn nn
· Engage with key partners at an engineering level to understand their future performance requirements, performance sensitivities, and workload expectationsnn nn
· Help develop the team and be a mentor to engineersnn nn
· Interact with customers and other third parties to successfully communicate complex technical ideas, and participate in internal and customer meetingsnn nn n nn nn What you’ll need to succeed nn nnThe successful Sr Principal Performance Modelling Architect based in Austin, Texas will have:nn Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering Extensive experience in microarchitecture-level performance modelling, CPU or system microarchitecture development, or workload/microarchitecture performance analysis (you don’t need specific Arm-architecture expertise) An engineering mind-set with strong problem-solving skills Good object-oriented programming, preferably C++ or Java, plus coding in assembly (aarch64 preferred) and C Use of a UNIX environment and programming in Python, shell, etc Excellent attention to detail Creativity and ability to communicate ideas efficiently Good interpersonal and teamwork skills Good understanding of computer architecture fundamentals nn n nn nn What you’ll get in return nn nnSo…what’s in it for you?
