JOB SUMMARYResponsible for managing a program of business unit-focused initiatives designed to help business partners drive value from information. Responsible for managing the relationship between the Business Intelligence Group (BI) and a key business unit, the role will contribute to Charters success by ensuring business needs and goals are realized through analysis and reporting activities of the Business Intelligence Group. This position manages a small team of analysts and developers who empower business leaders with concise, high-quality information, helping them leverage it to identify and address business opportunities and threats. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experienceProvides expert advice and education in the usage and interpretation of business data relevant to the business unitCommunicates data nuances and insights to all levels of the company in a clear and concise mannerProvides leadership in defining business-critical metrics and analyses that drives the business forwardDevelops analytic standards for measuring performance within the business unit, leading teams to consensus around analytic approaches and development of reporting priorities across key initiativesEnsures a consistent and efficient set of information and metrics permeates all levels of the supported business unit across the enterpriseInstills best practices across the company using Business Intelligence tools and philosophies from front-line employee to executive leadershipEnsures that the Business Intelligence architecture evolves to continue to provide fact-based decision making, sophisticated ad hoc capabilities, and fresh insight into the performance of the business unit.Monitors and manages requests from the business to the Business Intelligence GroupAbility to query data comfortably to provide information requested by business usersPresents data in a fashion that is easy to understand with proper documentation for successful user adoptionCreates metadata dictionaries of new facts and summariesCompletes status updates on critical initiatives in a timely mannerManages the delivery of critical projects through scope/requirement setting, working with the development team to provide information requested, conducting user acceptance testing and packaging the final product for end-user adoptionMaintains a roadmap of the functional area managed with a clear understanding of deliverable and associated deadlinesConsolidates redundant reporting and ensure that information is used consistently and efficiently across the business unitREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills /Abilities and Knowledge Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishExceptionally strong written and verbal communication skillsPrior experience and passion for leveraging data to drive significant business impactAbility to speak to large groups with advanced presentation skillsAbility to perform critical thinking in the area of data analysis and processProven leadership and ability to coach and develop a team Possess the intellectual curiosity to work through ambiguityAbility to prioritize and organize effectively and manage multiple projects/assignmentsProven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Excel & Access requiredVBA preferred but not requiredMust have a strong command of database concepts and exceptional SQL skillsExperience working with one or many BI platformsEducationBachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology or business related field, or equivalent experienceRelated Work Experience Number of YearsIT experience in the areas of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence 10+Experience providing data integration solutions in large-scale enterprise 7+environments primarily using MPP databases such as Teradata Experience in developing automated frameworks, templates and design patterns 5+supervisory experience with experience managing multiple teams consisting of employees and contractors Experience as a ETL developer, QA Engineer, Build Engineer, or other role 5+involving daily interaction with development practices Experience involving daily interaction with software development practices 3+Experience with Cable TV, Internet, and/or Phone products & services or other related industry experience is a plusWORKING CONDITIONSOffice environment
