You will collaborate with internal architects and senior technology leaders to drive our Semi-Custom Business Unit and Corporate R&D strategies, roadmaps, and product development cycles. You will guide relationships with our eternal partners to develop optimal and unique solutions for their critical market needs and applications including areas of hardware and IP design, SOC design, Firmware, API, Software, OS and Applications.The Person:You are an agile and driven general technologist with experience in forward looking and emerging technologies as well as product domains related to AMD and leading-edge IC design. You have a passion and vision for high performance technology solutions across CPU, GPU, AI, hardware accelerators, and system platforms. You have led and implemented high-level initiatives and have worked directly with CTO offices of market makers and technology partners. Your vision has defined long-range strategic technology roadmaps and partnerships across technology domains, such as semi-conductor hardware developers or cloud service providers. You have been the Chief Architect or Chief Engineer leading the architecture and technology of complex SOC and IC designs for leading industry solutions and appreciate the challenges of bringing product solutions from concept to launch. You have broad knowledge and expertise in computing technology and a depth in unique areas (e.g. Cloud Gaming, Software Virtualization, physical design, process technology) that will complement our Architecture and Design team.Key Responsibilities:* Create a vision of industry leading solutions for AMD and customer business needs in all areas of computing, graphics, and emerging technologies.* Advise and align the long-range strategic technical roadmap with the corporate Senior Leadership Team.* Guide the business and engineering teams while formulating product concepts and business cases.* Lead innovation among AMD Architects and Customer Engineering leaders while cultivating the understanding of unique customer needs, requirements, workloads and applications, and use cases of interest.* Work closely with AMD, Customer, and Industry teams to leverage, develop, and deploy the best in class IP for superior product design.* Advise architecture and engineering teams throughout the product R&D cycle.* Orchestrate silicon optimization and productization across AMD and Customer Engineering teams for successful product launch.Preferred Experience:* Consistent record of visualizing and driving new technologies and/or significant technology improvements* Ability to define long-range strategic technology roadmaps and partnerships across technology domains, such as semi-conductor hardware developers or cloud service providers* Experience collaborating, influencing and driving technical alignment across multi-functional, multi-location technical teams* Have successfully developed deep customer relationships* Experience as a Chief Architect or Chief Engineer responsible for architecture and technology of complex SOC and IC designs for leading industry solutions* Broad knowledge and expertise in computing technology and a depth in unique areas (e.g. Cloud Gaming, Software Virtualization, physical design, process technology)Academic Credentials:Advanced technical degree with emphasis in Computer Architecture, Computer Science, or Electrical EngineeringLocation:Boxborough, MA or Austin, TX#LI-CB1Requisition Number: 87401Country: United States State: Arizona City: PhoenixJob Function: DesignAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies or fee based recruitment services.
