The SV RSE verifies that the satellite aligns with both the Command Media and program technical requirements, and resists inappropriate compromise and risk, checks programmatic decisions, and balances technical performance, cost, schedule, and risk, while ensuring mission success.

• Oversee all SBIRS Space Vehicle (SV) performance and integration activities (including support of all satellite testing) culminating in final certification of the satellite for Launch
• Oversee Element Level and below CPEs/RSEs for hardware, software, and databases to assure compliance with the spacecraft level technical baseline
• Oversee the development and verification of Space Vehicle requirements
• Drive space vehicle certification
• Lead Space Vehicle level Material Review Board (MRB) and Failure Review Board (FRB) investigations
• Lead failure analysis to provide root cause determination and corrective action
• Participate in development and execution of critical development program landmark reviews such as SRR, SDR, PDR and CDRs for technology insertions
• Effectively communicate to program and customer management
• Travel occasionally for subcontractor oversight and launch campaigns The successful candidate typically has 14 years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree .

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, physics or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5 years experience in satellite design, integration, test and/or operations
• 5 years of subsystem or component CPE experience
• Leadership in driving technical issues/challenges to closure
• 1 year of Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or RSE experience and must achieve program RSE Certification
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance required Desired Skills:
• Experience in spacecraft integration and expertise in multiple spacecraft subsystems
• Familiarity with product certification requirements and procedures
• Familiarity with systems engineering and mission assurance fundamentals necessary for delivering the highest reliability space systems
• Experience in electrical and mechanical design and integration, satellite payloads, and A2100/LM2100 based satellite programs
• 6 months SBIRS program experience
• 3 years of LM Space experience
• 2 years of similar product experience
• 4 years of related technical experience
• 3 years of leadership experience
• Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, INCOSE Certification, or relevant Graduate Certificate
• TS/SCI security clearance
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex design information, technical decisions and issues to both highly technical and non-technical reviewers
• Strong problem solving, decision making (related to cost, schedule, technical and risk), and closure skills (dedication to close open items/issues) to ensure mission success.
• Willingness to accept 24/7 availability commitment with Delegate support as required
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and tackle numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building proven relationships with team members, leadership, and customers
