Solution Architect, Specialty Domain (Openstack / Kubernetes / Anthos) – US – Professional Services

This is a Full-time position in Boston, MA posted June 6, 2021.

The OpenStack Solutions Architect is the front-line expert at working with Rackspace’s customers, sales teams, solutions engineers, and product development/management groups.

The candidate that will fit best into a OpenStack Solutions Architect role will have extensive experience in design and development of business applications and OpenStack solutions.

The Solutions Architect will design futuristic solutions with currently available technology and take responsibility for the quality of the solution.

The OpenStack Solutions Architect will work with Rackspace’s sales teams to understand the customers’ business and technical service level objectives and then design solutions that leverage existing supported OpenStack technologies.

Where existing solutions do not exist, the Solutions Architect will work with product management and product engineering to help implement new standards and new processes that allows Rackspace to solve for the customer’s needs.

DNA of a successful Solutions Architect:The OpenStack Solutions Architect role is a specialized technical knowledge role that can quickly learn new concepts.

The ideal candidate for an OpenStack Solutions Architect Role is an industry contributor that has previously worked in with OpenStack as an architect or implementation engineer (or similar) role and will meet the following requirements:
– Maintain a strong knowledge of the core OpenStack projects and the Rackspace services that support the OpenStack platform.

– Have experience with sizing, optimizing, and deploying the hardware required to run the various OpenStack services of Nova, Swift, Cinder,
– Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Heat, and other core services.
– Have experience with Kubernetes architecture and configuration best practices and guidelines.
– Have a strong understanding of the DevOps concepts for CI/CD, configuration management, orchestration, etc.
– Bring strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently create solutions and work with others on a team.
– Have familiarity with programming and architectural frameworks.
– Have strong written and oral communication skills and be adept in time management and organizational skills.
– Ability to prioritize customer opportunities, training, and initiatives through highly effective time management.

Excellent problem solving, analytical, presentation, and whiteboarding skills.

– Experience with Python Programming, Kubernetes, and OpenShift are ideal.
