As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for helping build a completely new underground transportation system: the Las Vegas Loop.

This role will primarily be focused on designing and developing all aspects of the Las Vegas Loop controls and data acquisition systems.

Within this role, you will have wide exposure to the overall system architecture..

Responsibilities.

Implement safe, reliable and scalable services to monitor and control the Las Vegas Loop transportation system..

Propose, design, implement and deploy DAQ systems, including selecting the appropriate communication protocols and the required hardware..

Clearly document and communicate design proposals..

Procure and order required hardware, working directly with suppliers or contractors, occasionally in a construction environment..

Implement high quality code for safety critical applications, supported by thorough safety analyses and documented validation tests..

Support the Las Vegas Loop during hours of operations, eventually during weekends or holidays when necessary..

Basic Qualifications.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field..

2+ years experience in software development projects (industry or practical school projects)..

Familiar with communication protocols, such as TCP, UDP..

Familiar with serial communication standards, such as CAN, RS-232, RS-485..

Extensive experience developing large software applications in C, C++ or Go with high performance requirements..

Solid background in mathematics and physics.

Preferred Skills and Experience.

Experience with PLC systems, such as Beckhoff or Allen-Bradley..

Ability to quickly adapt to new projects and learn new languages, technologies and concepts under tight time constraints..

Understanding of how to develop Web APIs including concepts such as REST..

Deep understanding of networking..

Experience writing code for safety critical real-time systems..
