As the lead Software Test Architect, you will be responsible for architecting the software test capabilities of the full technology stack for Medtronic CRHF’s next generation enterprise Clinician and Patient Care Management system.

This exciting new system will be the basis of Medtronic’s disease management platform and continue to provide remote monitoring of over 1.6M patients in 80 geographies.

You will be responsible for defining the vision and driving the realization for the verification of software in the context of DevOps based software delivery.

You will enable teams to ensure quality and compliance with the Medtronic Quality System while moving quickly.

You will continuously drive improvement in verification by leveraging state of the art methodologies and tools, acting as a conduit of progressive external and internal thinking.

Your perspective will be broad, incorporating many verification capabilities (unit testing, static analysis, code reviews, etc…) and working across all types of software to ensure that the defects are detected and removed as fast as possible or avoided in the first place.

A Day in the Life

• Define and communicate the vision for verification of CRHF software, the architecture to enable it, and the steps to realization in the context of DevOps.
• Create visibility into the state of software through feedback loops and other means
• Consult with others to help leverage what exists and obtain feedback for how to improve
• Collaborate with other architects and engineering teams to build testability into the products from day one.
• Enable compliance with internal and external standards
• Research and propose tool and technology choices for delivering high quality, performant and scalable cloud services
• Share automation best practices and define standards for the team to build consistent and maintainable tests and test automation frameworks
• Play role of technical product owner with the test team to set priorities and assess progress on test deliverables
• Technical voice of the team with internal and external stakeholders
• Contributes to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on work group results.
• Participate actively in all the stages of project lifecycle

Must Have: Minimum Qualifications

• University Degree and minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency with one or more of the following programming languages: C#, .NET, HTML, Java, JavaScript, C++, Python, Powershell.
• Architecture experience
• Experience in developing test automation tools and frameworks with hands on technical and programming skills
• Experience with variety of verification tools (e.g.

  static analysis, unit testing, etc…)

Nice to Have: 

• Ability to define a compelling vision and drive the change required for realization
• Ability to organize and lead testing efforts and the ability to define a test strategy
• Experience in deployment automation and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
• Understanding of cloud native architecture
• AWS & Azure experience
• Experience with building test automation capabilities from ground up
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Clarity and precision in verbal and written communication
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams
• Design/test experience with regulated medical devices.
• Experience leading a team of engineers
