We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Transportation and Pavement team in our Waltham, MA office.

This Senior Civil Engineer will join our Transportation and Pavement Engineering team in our Waltham office and begin working collaboratively with Kimley-Horn colleagues in serving our clients, including both public sector and private, on a variety of transportation needs.

In addition to serving our existing clients, this senior engineer will have an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of our transportation engineering practice in the Boston area and places beyond.

This person will assist in marketing and business development efforts with our existing local municipal, state, and private clients, while delivering a wide variety of pavement management, pavement design, transportation planning, traffic engineering, and ITS-related projects with our growing team of transportation professionals.

This person will have the ability to pursue their own passions, leads, and clients. 

Our Senior Project Managers manage their projects profitably, engage in practice and delivery of projects, transition work to qualified staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.

The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.

Required

  • 6+ years of diversified experience in civil and transportation engineering
  • Well-rounded experience base in civil and transportation engineering
  • Additional specialization in pavement management and engineering
  • Extensive experience managing client contacts and relationships with State DOT’s, counties and municipalities, local and federal agencies, and private businesses
  • Ability to provide high quality deliverables with exceptional client service
  • Registered engineer with at least 6 years of diversified experience as a Civil Engineer
  • A desire to lead and grow a transportation practice
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, developing scopes of work, and assembling budgets for projected work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate and collaborate at all levels of the organization

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Bachelors or better in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Bachelors or better in Traffic Engineering or related field.
  • Bachelors or better in Transportation Engineering or related field.

Experience

Required

  • 6 years: transportation engineering

Licenses & Certifications

Required

  • Professional Engineer
