The Challenge
Senior CAE analyst is responsible for numerical analysis of appliance products for structural integrity under thermal/structural/dynamic loading.

The person should have strong background in solid mechanics and good understanding of loading conditions & failure mechanism.

The person should have extensive experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and proficient with software packages such as Abaqus/ANSYS.

What you will Do

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Global CAE analysts to provide analysis support for appliance products during product design and development process
  • Perform structural/thermal/dynamic analysis using Hypermesh, Abaqus and ADAMS
  • Perform drop/impact analysis using explicit solvers such as Abaqus/Radioss
  • Perform design optimization and propose suitable design changes based on FEA analysis
  • Develop parametric models/tools for various structural and thermal analyses
  • Develop new analysis method/procedure based on business needs
  • Work closely with development labs for co-relation of analytical and experimental results
  • Mentor/coach team members and design engineering in FEA

What you need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MS/PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience in structural simulations (preferably for consumer appliances products).
  • The person should have extensive experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and proficient with software packages such as Abaqus.
  • Knowledge of CAD and PLM tools such as PTC Creo and Windchill.
  • Good experience in solving coupled thermo-structural FEA problems
  • Strong expertise in explicit solvers such as Abaqus/Radioss
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with a passion for learning and teaching.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Good understanding of dynamic analysis methods.
  • Self-starting leader with excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional matrixed organization.
  • Ability to create and document new analysis methods/procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work multiple projects in parallel.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform FEA, interpret the results and clear presentation of analysis results/design recommendation.
  • Ability to work in a global virtual environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design experience in consumer products, automotive or other comparable industry.
  • Exposure to processes likes six-sigma and NPI
  • Exposure to high end lab equipment in the field of structural/thermal/vibration
