The Application Migration, Modernization & Management Practice collaborates across the entire AWS organization to deliver the best solutions for customers, connect with AWS product and service teams, and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

As trusted customer advocates, the Practice helps organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate and/or re-develop existing workloads in the cloud.

You will help shape, execute, and deliver solutions for a broad range of customer use cases primarily from large enterprise customers.

We are looking for a highly talented hands on application architect to help accelerate our growing Application Migration and Modernization business.

This is not a pure architect role, nor is it a pure engineering role.

It is an individual with a unique balance of application modernization and cloud native application development expertise.

The role requires hands-on building, coupled with cross-industry business acumen, including a heavy dose of passion for continued knowledge acquisition and growth, obsession for customers, and their success using AWS that will align well with our customers desired outcomes to be produced.

In this role as an experienced Modernization Architect, you will work with our customers in architecting, developing and re-engineering applications that can fully leverage the AWS Cloud.

You will work on a variety of game changing projects, at the forefront of application development and cloud technology adoption.

Achieving success will require coordination across many internal AWS teams and external AWS Partners, with impact and visibility at the highest levels of the company.

We are looking for a hands-on architect and developer who are passionate about:

· Help customers and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) architect scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services

· Collaborating with ISVs to define and invent cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases, including modernizing monolithic and legacy software to a SaaS solution

· Co-developing AWS cloud optimized software products, SaaS solutions and custom applications

· Working as a technical leader alongside customer

– Providing deep software development knowledge with respect to cloud architecture, design patterns and development

· Advising and implementing AWS best practices

· Leverage Agile software development methodologies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 7+ years of application development experience on Windows-based systems using Agile methodologies

· 7+ years of enterprise grade application development and design experience ( .NET (C#), Java)

· 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering background or related technical field

· Experience working directly with customers, partners or third-party developers

· Exposure to Agile development methodologies

· Experience modernizing legacy monolithic applications to microservices

· Demonstrated success as a software developer, application architect, product manager, CTO, or consultant working with various platforms

· Architecting, designing and developing applications on the AWS platform

· Designing and building applications using Container and serverless technologies

· Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability

· Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems

· Hands on familiarity with AWS CloudFormation or AWS Cloud Development Kit

· Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

· Cloud certifications, Cloud experience

· Extracurricular software development passion (e.g.

active .NET Core open source contributor)
