Job Summary:
Raytheon Solipsys, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) and Raytheon Technologies (RTX). Solipsys is an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD.
We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to serve as the Section Manager for the Systems Architecture and Requirements engineering group. The successful candidate will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies at our Fulton, Maryland office (in Maple Lawn). This Section Manager is the pivotal lead for all early phase Systems Engineering activities, working closely with customers to capture stakeholder needs, developing innovative new system capability concepts and architectures, defining detailed functional and performance requirements to guide software system development, and serving as subject matter expert and mentor for team of talented systems engineers. This position offers part time Telecommuting.
Responsibilities to Anticipate: * Serving as the technical authority for the business for Systems Architecture and Requirements activities including:
* Development of system level concepts
* Requirements analysis, decomposition and validation
* System definition and architecture
* Functional design
* Trade studies
* Detailed hardware and software requirements and design specifications
* Interface definition
* Hiring and supervising Systems Architecture and Requirements personnel
* Planning and Assigning staff to technical tasks and monitoring performance against expectations
* Providing development and career guidance to Systems Architecture and Requirements staff
* Perform as technical lead on major programs, planning and executing tasks and directing engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).Qualifications You Must Have: * Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
* Minimum 10 years experience in Systems Engineering with assignments as a Lead Systems Engineer
* Previous experience in the end-to-end application of command and control systems to air surveillance, defense, and control mission with proven experience in customer support
* Previous experience leading technical staff, assigning personnel to tasks and monitoring performance in a matrixed environment
* Experience in estimating systems engineering tasks, producing Bases of Estimates (BOEs), and Proposal Responses for ECNs as well as new business capture initiatives.
* Willingness for occasional domestic and international travel
* A DoD Secret Clearance required on day oneQualifications We Value: * MS or Ph.D. in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
* Prior experience managing a group of systems engineers in a leadership role, providing tasking, managing the group’s performance, and providing mentoring.
* Ability to understand and apply commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Mil-Std-499B).
* Working knowledge of a Requirements Management Tool such as DOORS (preferred) or RequisitePro.
* Superior knowledge of Solipsys software products and systems.
* Understanding of C++ and Java Software.
* Understanding of tactical data links such as Link 16.
* Superior understanding of CMMI processes and standards.
* Understanding of Model Driven Architecture (MDA), Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques, and the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and the use of a system architecture management tool such as Sparxsystems Enterprise Architect.
* Working knowledge of Agile engineering processes and DevSecOps initiative
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, positively influence team members, establish and maintain excellent customer relationships and deliver positive results.
* Adept at communicating (verbal and written) with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries which appropriately address the intended audience.
* Strong ability to work with standard MS Office product suite applications.
