SBU Head / BU Head Qualification : Science / Engineering graduate Responsibility : Design NA – Yes (Advisory Role for Large Complex Projects in new/emerging technology ). Knowledge Management. Identify key focus areas for capability building within technology teams as well as VDO based on competitive / technology landscape and explore alternative avenues for development of teams. Impart Knowledge sharing sessions through webinars, seminars etc with the leadership team on the emerging areas. Define and establish structure, process and governance mechanisms for knowledge management and knowledge sharing platforms (assimilation, classification and dissemination). Foster a collaborative culture of learning and sharing with and across horizontals. Training and Recruitment / People Management. Provide guidance and mentorship to team. Identify training needs and establish training plans for the team. Build relationships with multiple units or teams across the organization to facilitate effective working of own team. Set clear and objective goals for team. Conduct appraisals. Resolve people / staffing issues. Drive process compliance and track relevant metrics for teams (applicable to all supervisors). Design and drive programs for grooming, developing and certifying associates within technology teams (including taskforce identifications, implementation plan, review mechanisms etc). Identify the agenda for technology workshops and work with vendors and architecture teams to track creation of workshop material. Liaison with academy when required. Delegate the creation and presentation of the workshop material based on the scale. Enable a higher technology quotient by conducting technology workshops with developers across projects (eg design compliant coding). Conduct technology workshops for customers on emerging technologies. Define and establish structure, process and governance mechanisms for knowledge management and knowledge sharing platforms (assimilation, classification and dissemination). Project Planning and Set up. Review the initial planning / solutions for critical engagements. Identify potential risks associated with emerging /new technologies and applications and define mitigation strategy. Solution Conceptualization. Validate the opportunities & solution/services to be developed (eg, in terms of viability of business case, partnership model, value to client). Analyze industry / technology trends and customer pain areas to drive innovation to build competitive advantage through solutions and accelerators. Identify opportunities to complement / leverage any assets/ solutions already developed by other horizontals / practice. Provide the budget / capability / leadership to the team to develop the solution / service. Socialize/ Influence the solution offerings to internal and external customers. Review the initial planning / solutions for critical engagements. Review estimates for large programs or transformation deals. Set up the technology governance structure for programs / projects including review mechanisms, periodicity, roles and implementation (for programs including multiple large projects and components / multivendor programs). Solution Definition and Design. Provide guidance and inputs as required. Identify and define the assumptions and risks associated with any large scope project (consulting or delivery). Project Support. Monitor the key parameters that are critical to the program or customer relationship. Participate in PMR / governance meetings to conduct review of complex large programs / critical projects along with the vertical head to ensure that the risks and mitigation steps are identified and implemented. Provide technical guidance and advice to teams in case of any complex technical issues in the course of project delivery. Define design best practices, assumptions, risks at project level and share it with the team, if required. Monitor the key parameters that are critical to the program or customer relationship. Troubleshoot road blocks in projects, address clarifications to ensure client requirements are met. Review audit gaps across critical projects and identify steps to address them. Participate in PMR / governance meetings to conduct review of complex large programs / critical projects. Set up the technology governance structure for programs/ projects including review mechanisms, periodicity, roles and implementation. Review estimates for large programs or transformation deals. Provide guidance when required. Asset Development and Governance. Guide team to create reference enterprise architecture as reusable assets wherever possible. Guide team to create supportive artifacts based on the industry landscape. Identify solutions which can be built within the technology unit. Coauthor point of views. Guide team to create case studies / whitepapers on enterprise architecture recommendations. Leverage artifacts to guide the customer on the next steps based on the IT strategy / roadmap for the organization. Validate, review and audit different architecture for the best in the industry. drive IP creation in the team. Evaluate technology trends and utilize insights to drive business. Devise new solutions and opportunities to capitalize on the same. Guide team to devise innovative reusable assets, solution accelerators etc to enhance efficiencies. Engage with client’s senior leadership (CTO etc) and business counterparts to provide technology related subject matter expertise Spanning multiple business segments / processes. Understand the delivery processes and identify improvements to reduce risk and improve quality. Collaborate with GTO and other alliances to invest in and adopt best practices on various technologies and tools. Feed domain problems to GTO to drive solutions for the same. Identify solutions / processes which can be cross leveraged. Identify patentable components and work with teams like Horizon 3, GTO and IP office to file IP for the same. Participate on review boards to drive and review solutions and the need to patent the same. Provide inputs for creation of the strategy for technology architecture in the organization. participate in PMR. Collaborate with DAG, as required. Thought Leadership. Play the role of technology evangelist, understand Technology /Industry trends, identify growth opportunities, the impact of trends on business and define future capability/service development roadmap. Publish white papers and present the same in industry fora. disseminate insights from the market within the team. Business Development Support. Track new developed solutions and identify ways to package and sell them to current customers. Understand customer needs and pain points and identify business opportunities. Create a strategy and plan to increase penetration in existing customer base and increase mind share by building credibility. Architect solution approach for large strategic opportunities and lead bid defense. Build strong relationships with senior management members of customers through corporate and industry events etc. Review customer satisfaction scores and come up with ways to address concern areas. Keep a track of changes in the customer organization and the impact that it would have on customer expectations from Cognizant. Alliance Management. Identify the synergies and derive mutual benefits from partnerships. In collaboration with the alliance management team, create licensing/ pricing strategy for the new solutions and new products. Negotiate the right partnership model with the vendor’s sales team towards a WinWin partnership. IP Building & Management. Identify patentable components in the solution. Work with IP office and related technology group.
