JOB SUMMARY:Under the supervision of a Project Manager, a Project Supervisor provides leadership and general supervision of electrical work involved in construction, maintenance, and/or repair of commercial, industrial, or residential electrical construction projects.
The Project Supervisor is responsible for the profitable completion of tasks and/or projects by applying operational procedures through the planning, management, and coordination of labor, material and/or equipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plans and monitors job progress, prioritizes job activities and resources to meet job expectations.Provides general supervision of job-site employees including coordination and assignment of job tasks, required personnel reports, and annual performance evaluations.Accurately complete job site reporting and documentation.Provides oversight for job material and equipment, including ordering, receiving, checking for accuracy and condition, and ensuring timely return and check-in.Oversees jobsite housekeeping (including scrap wire).
Compiles necessary documentation to maintain daily job log book, change orders, job analysis reports, updating as-built drawings and conducting 3 week look ahead on a timely basis.Actively participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminarsEffectively communicates with project managers, owner representatives, inspectors, workers in related crafts, etc.Follows all safety procedures, conducts safety meetings, trainings and toolbox chats.
Promotes and documents safe work practices to ensure compliance with customer, OSHA and company guidelines.Maintains a positive work atmosphere by interacting with the Company’s internal/external customers and responding quickly to customer concerns, including response to emergency situations during and after hour.Adheres to the highest standards of ethical business conduct and compliance by acting lawfully, ethically, honestly and professionally and is in compliance with Company policy and procedures.Participates in continuing education classes to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and technologies, and/or to meet minimum education requirements as determined by Shaw Electric, Inc., or government agencies.Others duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredCompletion of an approved apprenticeship program, or a minimum of 10,000 or more certified hours in electrical projects and/or related experience.Obtain and maintain Class A or B State of Iowa Electric Journeyperson’s License Completion of the Shaw Electric, Inc.
Leadership Certification Training Program and required training to maintain certification standards.
