Description: Job Title: Sr Supervisor, Project Management Job Code: PJM3 Job Location: Norfolk, VA Job Duties: Applicants must be able to provide direction and supervision to workers in the progression of the assigned projects and maintain constant communication with program management as to the current status of the scheduled work and required manpower needs.
Must be knowledgeable of NAVSEA Standard Items, complex blue prints, drawings, and contractual requirements.
Must be familiar with standard practices, processes, and materials necessary to perform repair activities.
Must be able to communicate and motivate trade personnel to accomplish desired tasks and goals within designated timeframes and budgets.
Must be able to express ideas and give directions clearly and precisely both orally and in writing.
Must be able to formulate schedules and critical paths.
Must be able to train the tradesmen to be upwardly mobile in shipboard electrical functions.
Hands on assessments of the work force and progress will be necessary.
Should have troubleshooting abilities utilizing tech manuals and referenced drawings.
Must be able to perform other related duties and assignments and fulfill job requirements as directed by the Program Manager.
Responsible developing the technical approach; technical milestones, PAO&M schedules, budgets, defining required resources and for establishing work share with subcontractor personnel.
Must also be able to draft Technical Work Documents and T&I plans.
The candidates must have experience in developing fabrication and material listings from Specification and Drawing packages and must be able to interface with vendors, subcontractors, and government customers.
Qualifications: Minimum of 15 years of surface shipboard modernization experience is required and seven years managing shipboard and submarine installations at the deckplate level Experience maintaining production schedules to assure the project is within allotted man-hour budget; experience in manpower scheduling Experience aggressively seeking new opportunities with Program Manager Assure that all contractual obligations are completed in accordance with both occupational safety / health and quality requirements Experience in the procurement of materials to ensure materials are available to workers so that production requirements are met Experience working with subordinates, customers, and subcontractors to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and production issues US Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance and passport; less than 25% travel required Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include Excel and Project Education: Must possess a High School diploma or GED; US Navy Electrical A or C schools or equivalent electrical trade schools preferred OSHA 10 and VSRA Safety Training required.
