Project Electrical Engineer

The Triton Systems Inc. Ocean group is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer with an interest in innovative ocean systems research and development and a desire to create exciting new technologies. Our projects involve UUVs, sonobuoys, towed arrays, subsea electronics and sensors, seabed systems, submarine systems, fiber optics, ocean acoustics, and subsea energy harvesting. Innovation and technical problem solving will be a major part of your position along with the ability to work productively with a diverse team of researchers.

Responsibilities:
Design and develop electronic and acoustic products from concept to first prototype and beyond Develop array electronics for analog and digital hydrophone arrays, including hydrophone assemblies, telemetry electronics, and cabling Develop embedded systems for unattended arrays including signal processing hardware, communications hardware, power conversion hardware, battery monitoring, etc. Develop embedded systems for unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV) Serve both as an individual contributor and lead a project team Take ownership of project success and maintain customer relationships Identify and manage project schedules and risks Design and perform tests in an independent & inventive manner
 Basic Qualifications:
4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; MS a plus 3-6 years of hands-on experience in hardware development, mix with software development a plus Solid understanding design of analog and digital circuits Familiarity with schematic / PCB CAD tools Experience with Matlab and Simulink or equivalent modeling tools Working with a highly focused cross functional team to develop and evolve rapid prototypes of complex systems.
Desired qualifications :
Experience designing acoustic/audio components and systems with preamplifiers, equalization filters, analog to digital converters (ADC), multiplexer and digital interfaces Experience with acoustic arrays and/or SONAR Experience conducting in-water, at-sea testing, or other field testing Experience with DoD R&D projects, Navy programs, and/or Anti-submarine warfare (ASW) Experience with marine robotic systems and various embedded system architectures (e.g. PixHawk) and robotics frameworks (e.g. Robot Operating System (ROS), MOOS-IvP Experience with development of microcontroller programming on platforms such as Arduino or STM32 Nucleo
