Arcadis have an enviable reputation and are working closely with our blue-chip clients in various sectors like Manufacturing & Technology, Rail, Data Centres, Residential and Education delivering their most important projects across UK and EMU.
Join our Design & Engineering team as an Architect and we’ll make sure you get the experience and personalised learning support you need to take your career as far as you want it to go.
The workload will be varied, and core responsibilities will include working on transactional based instructions, technical advisory services and lead on the project delivery work.
Requirements:
• ARB chartership (mandatory) & RIBA chartership (preferable)
• Experience in delivering architectural projects under Traditional Construction Route, especially RIBA 4 & 5
• Prior experience in designing Industrial Assets (Factories, Fulfilment Centres, Data Centres, Rail or Transportation etc)
• Has strong skills in interpreting architectural or engineering plans and preparing material lists and specifications where required to support cost analysis.
• Experience in writing technical descriptions specifying material qualities and properties, utilising knowledge of material standards, industrial processes, and manufacturing procedures.
• Experience of translating concept designs into practical and technically sound, building solutions.
• Understanding of building technologies and environmental design and ability to employ structural practice, construction techniques and processes relevant to the production of information encompassing all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work;
• Good experience in the Buildings industry, including supervising aspects of a project of significant scale
• Ability to work as part of Virtual Team (with team located in different offices in UK and overseas)
• Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary design team, coordinating all design requirements
• Experience in leading project design teams of 4-10 people, with team potentially located in different offices in the UK and overseas
• Experience of working on projects in a professional services environment
• The ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner with good understanding of commercial aspects of a project
• A passion for design excellence, and a desire to embrace new and innovative thinking
• Outstanding communication skills and demonstrable presentation skills
• Client facing skills and experience
• Flexibility to travel throughout the UK and abroad when required
• Experience and knowledge of sustainable development best practice will be additional strength
