PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Capital Delivery Senior Electrical Engineer Project Leaderis responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient use of Roofing and Asphalt (R& A) capital resources, being a fully engaged member of the Capital Delivery Team, and accountable for defining/executing capital investment projects in our 28 manufacturing facilities (13 Roofing and 12 Asphalt plants).

Typical goals are; zero injuries to OC employees or contractors, on-time project delivery, project spending consistent within budget expectations, researching/developing proposed business solutions, and overall excellent project management skills.

In addition, it is common to expect the Project Leader be aligned with organizational goals of zero injuries, perfect quality systems and a waste free environment.

The Project Leader will also assist in creating reliability systems along with supporting the manufacturing facilities in order to provide optimum operational conditions in the safest and most cost effective manner.Can be located in Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago/Detroit/Toledo.

As long as they are near a major airportREPORTS TO:Roofing SBU: Shingles Capital Delivery Leader The successful candidate is a leader of capital project processes and of people: The successful candidatemust manage projects by guiding process owners Plant Leaders and manufacturing staff, Process (Stable Operations) Engineers, Product Managers, Capital Sourcing through the project schedule to perform on time and on budget.SPAN OF CONTROL: This position has no direct reports.JOB DUTIES:This position entails project and technical leadership for all facets of mechanical equipment definition, design, and implementation for R& As process equipment throughout the United States.

The process equipment in question is used to take a continuous web of fiber glass may and convert this web into shingles using other raw materials and converstion equipment.

Typical raw materials include oxidized asphalt, pulerivsed filler, various surfacing materials, films, and adhesives Examples of conversion equipment include cutting, combining, catching/stacking, and package.

Additionally, there are many types of supporting processes such as, hot oil systems, compressed air, environmental controls, etc.

There is a wide range of customer products that used to protect and enhance the appearance of residential homes and commercial businesses.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Living the Safety stand and adhering to the safety responsibilitiesDevelop project scopes with plant input, including maintenance personnel Effectively leads capital projects from concept to completion in a way that no injuries occur and timing & spending is within expectations, so that the maximum benefit is achieved with company resources.Support multi-plant network with troubleshooting, design, maintenance, and loss prevention assistance when neededLead multiple electrical projects simultaneously through networking with engineering firms, including Alliance Partners; run projects as projectmanager, as well as organizing fellow project managers.Develop capital approval requests as necessary; ensure the requested funding is consistent with all project requirements so that approved amount is not exceeded.Able to analyze systems, research options, and determine the most optimum cost/benefit relationship to deliver capital projects.Ensure compliance with all electrical codes at a local and national levelGood knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70) and NFPA 70EEnsure all projects are delivered consistent with scope and expectations around operability and cost.Strong knowledge in both controls and power deliveryEngage in process start up operation, problem solving skills, active listening, and process improvementLead troubleshooting process issues and developing corrective actions/recommendationApply experience with combustion/environmental emission controls devicesKNOWING OUR CUSTOMERSReaches mutually beneficial agreement with all supported operating departments on required capacity specifications, in terms of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) or similar metric that measures capacity losses related to quality, availability, and performanceIdentifies, understands, and teaches othersCapital Delivery Procedures required to provide our manufacturing sites withreliable and productive equipment/machineryDevelops and implements procedures and systems to ensure equipment consistently meets or exceeds design expectationsSupports the R& A sites to ensure they meet our customers needsSUPPORTING CAPTIAL PROJECTS & MANUFACTURING OPERATIONSAnalyzes machine and process data, providing feedback and making recommendations to optimize performance; ensures effective use and integration of information & new technologiesNetworks with other engineers, site employees, S& T, and other relevant groups to identify and implement best practices for continuous improvement of plant performance metricsDocuments Maintenance Delieverables for capital projects.Enforces a comprehensive Engineering Management of Change (MOC) processAids in the development and implementation of the plant capital planLOCATION & TRAVELWithin 30 miles of Granville, OH, 50 miles of one of our Owens Corning Roofing Facilities, or 50 miles from a major U.S.

airport hub.

This position requires40-45%, and with previous travel experience JOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBS or MS in Electrical EngineeringPlant experience: held previous plant or manufacturing leadership roles10+ years experience in Electrical Engineering5+ years in electrical project management; small to large $1MM total project costExperience utilizing Microsoft Office productsOther desirable attributes: TPM & EM Pillar experienceLEAN manufacturing envolvementProfessional engineer 6 Sigma Black or Green belt EXPERIENCEThe successful candidate must be a flexible individual that can work effectively across the global organization, be a good communicator, and excel at teamwork.

The individual must be comfortable in both the development stages of a project or on the manufacturing plant floor for equipment start-up/commissioning.

This position will either be based dependent upon the current location of the acceptable candidate and the business needs.
