VEVRAA Federal Contractor PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The primary function and purpose of a Mechanical Systems Engineer will be to assist in the development of a mechanical load test system, including product design, development, prototype, and testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist in development of mechanical systems, including research, design, and evaluation of proposed device Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering and performance specifications Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial action Assist in design of testing equipment and development of testing procedures Communicate with vendors and manufacturers to obtain information and specifications on equipment prior to ordering Ability to multi-task throughout assigned range of responsibilities Communicate clearly with clients and colleagues both in writing and verbally OTHER FUNCTIONS Demonstrate the necessary interpersonal skills to thrive in a team-oriented work environment Demonstrate strong follow-through skills with ability to meet deadlines Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing FDH Adhere to all policies and procedures of FDH Additional duties as assigned by supervisor QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Must be ITAR compliant.

The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is the United States regulation that controls the manufacture, sale, and distribution of defense and space-related articles and services as defined in the United States Munitions List.

0-4 years’ experience in engineering or mechanical systems design Working knowledge of computer programs including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MS Office Ability to provide manual numeric calculations and hand sketches to accurately represent device components Superior problem solving and decision-making skills Ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate with all departments across FDH and to the external market
