Mechanical Engineer – HVAC

Our client in Atlanta, GA is looking for a Mechanical Engineer.

They provide construction management services on projects for the various State agencies and entities.

Summary: We have a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer that will require them to evaluate and review designs drawings and specifications for new building and renovation projects.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure code compliance.

The Mechanical Engineer will be tasked to review the HVAC and Plumbing aspects of the drawings and ensure they meet all safety and constructability codes.

This will include identifying errors, omissions, inconsistencies, and conflicts.

Engineers will also be asked to conduct drawing and specification review to ensure construction documents are compliant with applicable building codes as well as local state and federal laws.

Required: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering PE or sitting for PE in next 6 months 10 plus years’ experience in mechanical design, construction document preparation and review for Commercial or Education facilities Strong Building Code Knowledge Strong Communication Skills Preferred: Plan Review Experience for Local Municipality or State Government Experience as a commissioning agent/authority Experience programming or trouble-shooting BAS (Building automation systems) and coordinating their proper operation and interface with HVAC equipment Experience as a facility manager or working with facility managers during design, construction or project turn-over and occupancy Term: 6 Months
