Sceye is currently seeking a highly motivated and driven mechanical engineer who is passionate about their designs. This position reports to the Director of Design Engineering. Sceye is based in Moriarty, New Mexico.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
What You Will Do
The Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, create, integrate, and maintain the HAPS various mechanical systems.
· Research and design mechanical systems to integrate into the High-Altitude Platform to perform according to specifications.
· Utilize mathematical skills to perform calculations in support of design work.
· Create technical drawings, plans, models, and simulations utilizing computer software to convey concepts.
· Serve as the technical project manager and report to staff the status of the mechanical system designs and implementation.
· Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate the systems into the platform and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions.
· Oversee consultant work scope to ensure project deadline are met in a timely manner.
What You Need
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
Required Skills
Minimum of 5 years successful experience researching and designing mechanical systems to high quality standards.
· Capability to create, read, and interpret technical drawings or schematics.
Strong analytical skills and judgement.
· Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategies for solving complex issues regarding platform design, assembly, and integration.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Demonstrated leadership capability, decision making abilities and organizational skills.
Successful experience working on a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and resources. Demonstrated proficiency with CAD.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience working for a start-up company.
Previous experience in an aerospace environment is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with composite engineering and/or fabrication.
Experience and Education
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related field. A Masters degree is preferred.

Sceye is based at a state-of-the-art facility at the airport in Moriarty, NM an easy commute from Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and the small mountain towns of the Sandia Range.
