We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager with aerospace experience for our location in Carlstadt, NJ .

This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each) The Manufacturing Engineering Manager be responsible for the technical and administrative leadership of manufacturing engineering.

Candidate will be responsible for creation and execution of manufacturing plans to meet the goals and objectives of the Company while creating a culture of process excellence that promotes and executes process improvements and cost reductions.

Roles & Responsibilities: 70% Lead and direct the Manufacturing Engineers in creating processes, creating and maintaining accurate routers, creating and maintaining process procedures, and defining tooling required to support production and new product development programs.

15% Define and lead continuous improvement projects throughout the Manufacturing organization while developing the skills of team on use of lean tools.

10%
– Work closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Program Management, Engineering and Quality to provide timely support to achieve customer needs and requirements.

5% Lead capital improvement projects from definition through implementation.

Requirements Requires a Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Citizenship required.

Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications: Must have the ability to lead and persuade others, and deploy new processes by effectively communicating ideas and concepts.

Prior experience managing teams in an aerospace manufacturing environment desired.

The ideal candidate will have experience with welding and/or machining.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements: Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a manufacturing environment, as well as standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

May require the ability to travel by air or auto.

Work requires the ability to change into or out of personal protective equipment when entering or exiting manufacturing, laboratory, or other areas.

May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
