Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership related to occupational health, safety and sustainability in order to drive ownership of a renewed holistic approach to safety engagement in manufacturing operations and product impacts on the environment.
• Lead “Zero Injury Culture” initiatives.
• Develop and deliver HSS training programs.
• Lead / facilitate plant safety committees.
• Conduct post-incident / injury investigations; prepare reports identifying incident / injury root cause and sustainable corrective action.
• Audit HSS plant performance and identify / track follow-up actions to completion.
• Responsible for federal, state, and local environmental programs and permits and ensure compliance.
• Measure and report out on plant HSS operational performance.
• Function as the emergency response coordinator and develop / drive emergency response & business continuity initiatives related to HSS.
• Act as the company representative with government HSS agencies affecting the plant.
• Audit HSS plant performance and identify / track follow-up actions to completion.
Experience:
• 5 years industrial safety and environmental compliance experience in a managerial role.
• Proven track record in leading and transforming safety performance.
• Demonstrated experience in program and practice development, implementation and training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at multiple levels.
• Proven analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work individually and as a key member / partner with the site management team.
• Degree or professional certification in Industrial Safety preferred.
• Multisite management experience a plus.
