We expect the Maintenance Electrician to deliver an excellent repair service to our production team, providing electrical and automation expertise and team work to an excellent standard.The role is ultimately responsible for the maintenance, repair, install, and design of equipment to support production team.COMPETENCIES* Flawless Execution – Accountability* Food Safety and Quality* Communication* Teamwork* Safety* Dependability* Adaptability and FlexibilityESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:* Must be capable of diagnosing equipment failures and machinery problems on his/her own, and take corrective action to restore it back to safe operating conditions as soon as possible.* Understands the preventive maintenance system and directs its implementation.* Must maintain work logs, work orders, PM sheets, and breakdown reports, and take* corrective actions when necessary.* Ability to understand technical equipment manuals and diagrams.* Demonstrates capabilities in handling complete factory startups as required; this includes equipment setup, boiler checks, cooling tower checks, ventilation system checks, and basic refrigeration system checks* Conducts boiler blow downs and water softener checks* Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and simple electrical systems in the manufacturing facility and offices.* Occasionally works with outside vendors to complete maintenance activities.* Completes all necessary paperwork related to planned and unplanned work performed.* Researches, specifies, and requests repair parts when they are needed and as necessary.* Understands the preventive maintenance system and its implementation. Reviews work logs, work orders, PM sheets, and breakdown reports, and takes corrective actions as necessary.* Works closely with the Process Engineering Manager and other departments in order to eliminate downtime and to improve operational efficiencies.* Possesses the following electrical skills:* Ability to identify motor starters by class and size.* Identifies proper overload and fuse sizes for application* Has the ability to use a volt meter properly* Uses amp probe to diagnose motor overload* Ability to wire start/stop 3-wire circuit controller* Reads motor nameplates and wire motors with correct overload and heater selection* Connects simple inverters to motors* Demonstrates the proper way to check fuses using an ohmmeter and check continuity of wires.* Understands simple electrical schematics* Possesses the following mechanical skills:* Disassembles, reassembles, and rebuilds gearboxes, valves, cylinders, solenoid valves, pumps, and other factory-related equipment* Pipe threading using appropriate tools* Ability to size sprockets and pulleys to determine speed ratios, and to distinguish chain, sprockets, and V-belt sizes and types* Measure and determine types and sizes, and proper handling of bearings and to designate bearing numbers for placement of parts orders* Demonstrate the ability to adjust tracking of product conveyor belts* Possesses the following mechanical skills:* Perform basic copper soldering* Capable of welding with heli-arc in vertical and horizontal positions* Uses oxy/acetylene torch in cutting and brazing including the proper pressures.* Demonstrate proper use of inert flush gases with respect to welding* Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training.
