JOB SUMMARY The System Architect is technically responsible for specifying technical solutions in customer projects to system architecture relevant topics.
The system architect communicates technical solutions to project teams as well as customers and suppliers and drives progress based on feedback from integration, verification, and validation.
JOB FUNCTIONSCreates and maintains system architecture management plan Understands the needs of project stakeholders concerning system KPIs, resource utilization, system state machine, system functions, system availability and stability, legal requirements, functional safety, cyber security, and other system architecture relevant topics throughout all phases in a projectPerforms reviews of system architecture relevant requirements including customer requirements, customer change requests, and system requirements Performs analyses of the system architecture relevant topics and proposes solution alternatives in consideration of technical feasibility, cost efficiency, the integrity of the system, and other relevant criteria Decides and specifies technical solutions based on the analyses of solution alternatives Creates and allocates specifications to system elements in system architecture design specification document with traceability to system architecture relevant requirementsCreate interface specification documents such as system elements interface specification and hardware-software interface specification Communicates technical solutions to and monitors progress with necessary disciplines such as function engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, sensors, system integration testing, and other project stakeholders including suppliers and customer Performs technical defect analysis and specifies solutions of system relevant defects Performs System-FMEA and supports technical risks estimation as well as risk mitigation Work collaboratively with functional safety engineers and cyber security engineers, integrates technical safety concept and cyber security concept to system architecture by deriving and allocating safety and security-relevant requirements to system elements Understand technical documents including datasheets, application notes, technical standards, patents, and works collaboratively on hardware schematics, software architectures, mechanical drawings, sensor technologies, and other disciplinary relevant design documents Supports hardware and software teams to perform technical defect analysis of hardware and software relevant defects Supports technically the system degradation, system integration, validation, and End-of-Line topics.
Supports technically the definition of the validation and verification concepts Supports consolidating system and functions performance test acceptance criteria Organize reviews of the system architecture work products Performs technical communications with customers and suppliers, reacts to customer escalations Supports engineering planning with ALM tools Manage external engineering resources for architecture-relevant topics, including definition, communication of technical tasks, and verifying deliverables.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Software Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering or equivalent Master’s preferred 4-8 years of experience in ADAS and AD system development, hardware development or software development in the automotive industry, and at least 2 years of experience in system engineering according to ISO15288, ISO26262, and ASPICE.
TECHNICALAdvanced knowledge of automotive technologies such as CAN, FlexRay, Automotive-Ethernet, AUTOSAR, etc.
Automotive SPICE or CMMI Functional Safety (ISO 26262) COMPUTERComprehensive knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel) Comprehensive knowledge of PTC Integrity, Enterprise Architect, DOORS, Rhapsody, MATLAB-Simulink Basic knowledge of SAP LANGUAGEComprehensive knowledge of English (speak & write) For positions in non-English speaking countries: Advanced knowledge (verbal & written) of local language required ABILITIESAble to work effectively in a global environment Pragmatic problem-solving skills Able to represent technical topics internally and externally Able to moderate and motivate global teams Travel (domestic) may be needed Self-motivation, tenacity, and communication skills Working knowledge of configuration management (preferably PTC/MKS), project monitoring, and control techniques Team moderation International business communication
