This position will manage a team of multi-disciplined engineers focused on the design and development of multiple Re-entry product platforms used for both tactical and flight test applications.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: subsystem technical coordination with all appropriate internal/external stakeholders, electronic equipment layout/integration, cabling, structure design, analysis, engineering documentation, program management schedule/budget, and manufacturing liaison support.
The Re-entry Mechanical Design Manager will provide solution based technical mentoring to improve program performance and drive error free design using proven tools, processes and predictive measures.
The manager will work collaboratively with the program and functional senior leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments and rotations to sustain engineering capabilities, critical skills, and drive performance management, career development, and personnel related activities.
The manager will also be responsible for the evaluation of engineering personnel for performance reviews, promotions, and merits.

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong cross-organization relationships Demonstrated experience leading technical teams.
Experience conducting item level design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) Experience in engineering project management including: managing suppliers, BOEs, technical evaluations, proposals and negotiations, tracking and development of cost and schedule Experience in failure investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action disposition Experience in multi-year planning, including labor and non-labor elements and staffing strategies Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance; US citizenship requiredDesired Skills: Past or present Certified Principle Engineer (CPE) Experience leading problem investigations and development efforts which require integration of LM and sub-contractor organizations efforts as well as integration with government agencies Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), Controls Account Management (CAM) experience, Development program experience Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts Demonstrated experience in the application of additive manufacturing” BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
