Our work depends on a Lead Systems Engineer/Software Architect joining our team to support the USMC customer in the preferred locations of Newport, RI or San Diego, CA.

As a Lead Systems Engineer supporting a federal government customer, you will be trusted to support a software development and maintenance services team, which is evolving to an Agile environment.
The team supports a C4ISR software suite and backend services that enable development and integration of external applications and data.In this role, a typical day will include:+ Scope of work includes requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, configuration management, information assurance, and maintenance.
The Lead System Engineer will be authorized to and possess the system knowledge to manage, direct, execute and control all engineering elements on the contract.+ Lead engineering, software engineering, integration, and testing support efforts.
The support shall include technical analysis, technical interchange meetings, collaborative engineering and development of test and analysis tools+ Provide assessments and recommendations on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.+ Prepare technical presentations, briefings, and papers to address program management issues in such venues as technical design reviews, technical review boards, and others.+ Identify technical issues that need resolution.+ Work with applicable Government team leads to facilitate the resolution of technical issues.+ Identify risks and develop mitigation plans for identified cost, schedule, and technical issues.+ Conduct assessments and make recommendations for design, testing, and documentation utilizing full knowledge of all phases of application, analysis, and programming and research analysis techniques.+ Provide engineering solutions in support of continued operational sustainment**WHAT YOU’LL NEED****Required Qualifications:**+ Minimum 8 years of software development and design experience with at least 3 years in technical lead role+ Demonstrated ability to lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams through software development lifecycle phases+ Experience with service oriented architecture and microservices architecture design and implementations+ Working knowledge of DevSecOps processes and practices including IaC, continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and test automation+ Experience managing software development life cycle using Agile practices (e.g.
