Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction.We’re looking for a Lead Structural Engineer to be responsible for leading design projects, developing design calculations using standard and advanced analysis (FEA) techniques, developing drawing, and developing specifications for structures made of steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design.

Your work will be performed in Oak Ridge, TN with potentially some travel.

or M.S.

in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school.+ 10 or more years of experience.+ Experience delivering a range of projects from conceptual design through detailed design.

Includes developing design calculations, numerical modelling, drawing development, specification development, and construction support.+ Design experience of steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design.+ Design experience of industrial facilities.+ Knowledgeable of local and national code such as IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7+ Knowledge of nuclear codes such as DOE 1020, AISC N690, and ACI 349.+ Experience leading groups of engineers and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules.+ Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures and ensures that all work accomplished is procedurally compliant.+ Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1.+ Competent using discipline specific technical software such as: STADD, AutoCAD, AutoCAD REVIT, Microstation, MathCAD, etc.+ Competent using Microsoft Office software.+ US citizen required.+ Engineering Registration (PE) required.**Preferred qualifications:**+ Master’s degree is a plus+ DOE Q clearance is preferred but not required.+ DOE experience is preferred but not required.+ Reside within a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office.+ Experience with retrofitting existing industrial facilities is preferred but not required.+ Experience as resident or field engineer located on project site is preferred but not required.Essential Functions:Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.

Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs.

Longest distance carried of 50 feet.

Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation.

Right and/or left hands utilized.

Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same.

No foot controls necessary.
