Associate Mechanical Engineer.

In this role, you will apply basic engineering design principles to develop detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations.

Ideal candidates will show an ability to develop innovative solutions to challenging design constraints, a willingness to take on new systems and engineering designs, a drive to identify and mitigate possible downstream obstacles, and offer customers unique solutions allowing the team to maintain a competitive edge.

Associate Mechanical Engineers have the opportunity to utilize world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.

Essential Functions: Participate in research, development of layouts, and preparation of engineering drawingsCoordinate design activities with various departments, such as Tool Design, Flight Sciences, and Production, to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum costEnsure design success from the initial concept, through the design phase, manufacturing, completion of the installation, and into future expansion and supportTrain and mentor junior engineersQualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil Engineering degree or related technical degree and two (2) years of related experience.

A combination of education and experience may be considered.Position requires the ability to obtain and main a DoD Security Clearance, which requires US citizenship.Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAble to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which require U.S.

CitizenshipMust be able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments (some positions will require the ability to board/exit aircraft)Willingness to travel or relocate, if necessaryPreferred Additional Skills:Co-Op/Intern or previous entry-level experience in mechanical/structural designCAD knowledge/skillsKnowledge of CAD and PLM software, including NX and TeamcenterUnderstanding of basic aircraft systems
