Other users of our vacuum-based processes include the life sciences, research, aerospace, packaging, heat treatment, laser cutting and many other industrial processes.

We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety.

Job Description: In this role you will be responsible for the design and development of new ideas and solutions for new product development as well as supporting current products modification and improvements based on in-service needs and market strategy.

You will support the concept, design and implementation of mechanical parts, subassemblies and final products.

You will work closely with a new product development team of engineers, scientists, operations, advanced procurement, and marketing personnel on efficiently managed project teams where you are expected to meet or exceed performance, cost, and time line goals.

Specific duties include, but are not necessarily limited to: Support and troubleshoot manufacturing, quality and supply chain related product issues Design and develop complex scientific instrumentation products using Siemens NX software Ensure proper feasibility and mitigations of risks when developing new technical ideas.

Evaluate them against requirements, quality, timeline and cost Design quality solutions that are manufacturable, serviceable, and reliable that meet INFICON product specifications Collaborate with the SME’s to assure a quality and reliable product Generate reports, technical documentation, design reviews, and analyses.

Required Qualifications: Proficiency in 3-D modeling and experience with a PDM system.

Experience using mechanical engineering design principles, practices, and methods Experience using manufacturing techniques (subtractive and additive mfg; turning, coatings, milling, EDM, welding, sheet metal forming and joining, metal tube bending), and industry standards Must be able to work well in cross-functional teams and have excellent interpersonal skills Must have passion, self-motivated, great attention to detail, ability to multitask, and enthusiasm for learning Strong problem solving and decision making skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience in design of scientific instruments, vacuum design, and/or high precision designs Experience in Finite Element Analysis; thermal and/or structural analyses Understanding of Agile framework with an emphasis on SCRUM methodology.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Three years or more of relevant experience INFICON provides a dynamic work environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
