Georgia-Pacific: Civil / Structural Project Engineer

DescriptionGeorgia-Pacific Consumer Operations is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Civil / Structural Project Engineer role at the Consumer Products Operation located in Muskogee, OK.

The Muskogee Mill is an integrated Tissue and Towel manufacturing operation.

This position is primarily responsible for developing and leading the implementation of the civil / structural portion (steel, concrete, soils, etc.) of capital projects at the mill.

This individual will also provide technical support to maintenance and operations.What You Will Do In Your Role Developing bid specifications, project schedules and budget estimates for engineering and design, site works, civil and structural constructionReinforcing safe construction supervision of all site works, civil and structural constructionPerforming review of drawings developed internally or as part of contractor bid submittal packagesPreparing equipment and system requirements including design as required, specifications, construction scopes of work and request for quotations (RFQs) that meet project objectivesPerforming contractor analyses and participate in contractor selection, contract development, and contractor supervision as requiredInsuring reliable operations with a focus on design for reliabilityExpanding and refining in-house technical capabilitiesEffective execution of the Project Work Processes and Mill Improvement ProcessesAssisting in the development and execution of mill and area capital plansManaging capital, working capital, fixed asset ledger, cost reduction projects to yield target ROCCWork with internal and external resources (including engineering resources) to organize and execute projects as defined in the Venture Scope of Work (VSW).

This includes design, construction/installation, commissioning, startup, and documentation activitiesUsing economic thinking when evaluating alternatives/equipment/vendors/contractors The Experience You Will BringRequirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Structural Engineering or Four-Year Engineering Technical DegreeExperience developing and presenting information in a one-on-one and/or group setting What Will Put You Ahead Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Structural Engineering with PE stampExperience with managing large projectsThree or more years of experience working within a pulp and paper manufacturing operation within an engineering capacityExperience mentoring entry level talent Located on the Kerr-McClellan Navigational Channel (Arkansas River) on about 640 acres of land, the Muskogee consumer products operation spans across approximately 70 acres (or 2,900,000 square feet) of manufacturing and warehouse space are “under roof” employing approximately 830 employees.

We are the second largest employer in the Muskogee, OK area and 45th in the state Our non-union facility operates on 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week, 365 days per year; housing 2 of the 13 largest tissue machines in the world and paper machines that produce an average of 900 tons of paper per day.
