Job Description: Data Architect (R0015293) Job Description Data Architect (R0015293) Description GEICO is looking for an IT Data Architect for the DecisionSciences and Business Transformation (DSaT) Data Consumption team where we workto make GEICO enterprise data usable and easily accessible for our internalcustomers.
We are looking for a highly motivated, high energy, self-starter,problem solver, with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and solidinterpersonal and communication skills.
Must have intellectual curiosity and adesire to learn new skills and technologies.
Qualifications: * Minimum 4 years experience as an IT Data Architect * Able to gather requirements from both IT and the Businesspartners * Demonstrate the ability to create high quality technicalartifacts such as Source to Target Mappings (STMs) and Record LevelSpecifications (RLS) * Data Warehouse experience.
Candidate must have experiencewith designing Data Warehouse schemas (3NF model) as well as Data Mart schemas(Dimensional model) * Familiarity with XML/JSON schemas * Perform data profiling using SQL * Prototype ETL transformation logic using Advanced SQLtechniques * Actively participate in data architecture and projectdiscussions * Ability to thrive while working on ambiguous orchallenging projects * Able to multi-task under tight deadlines * Able to work independently as well as be a strong teamplayer * Proficient with erwin Data Modeler and MS OfficeSuite * Big Data experience Preferred Skills: * P& Amp;C Insurance Subject Area Model experience (i.E.Policy, Sales, Service, Claims, and Billing systems) * UNIX command line and vi editor skills * Databases: Preferably DB2 and/or Netezza * Big Data Experience.
Hadoop, Hive, Linux.
