Role Summary/Purpose The Engineering Project Manager demonstrates leadership in the communicating with peers, partner, customer or supplier to plan and manage projects.
In this role your detailed responsibilities are as following: develop and manage project execution plans, tracking the execution status against timelines and budgets, identify risks and mitigation plan, develop recovery plan when there is schedule delay, drive the technical problem solving to keep the health of execution, and timely report status to leadership.
You will also be responsible for scope management, cross-function communication, resource allocation, supplier management, cost management and risk management.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities Facilitate stakeholders to develop clear project specifications and execution plan, give clear instructions, and communicate with customers of all levels of an organization Drive the project execution under budget and committed schedule through close interaction with engineering department leader, technical leader, EPMs and other stakeholders Drive risk management and risk mitigation plan.
Identify recovery plan and drive the execution to it when there are schedule delays Identify / deploy most appropriate project management tools to drive efficiencies and cost savings Drive process definition and improvement for the benefit of efficiencies and cost savings Monitor the resource allocation, identify the resource gap and solution Establish strong working relationships with other location team Support EPMO leader to build team’s capability Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field At least 8 years of experience in Avionics engineering Demonstrate competency in using standard project management tools Strong communication and interpersonal skills Organizational and analytical skills Ability to work within a multi-discipline, cross-functional team to drive results Desired Characteristics Master’s degree in Engineering or related field Technical and / or project leadership experience in an Aerospace system/product development (or equivalent) position Strong quantitative, negotiation, presentation and conflict resolution skills Ability to adopt, define/improve and execute department processes in a fast-changing environment Be flexible and apply themselves where ever needed by the team Experience in outsourcing
